First year‘s partial results of the long-term study on demecology of Western corn rootworm (WCR) population are presented. The pest appeared in the surroundings of Szeged in 1995-1996 and colonized in 1999-2000.
Formal and functional structure elements in six structure patterns of the WCR adults populations collected with aspiration during calendar weeks 25-32 were analyzed.
Adoption of techniques applied in the United States was preferred when choosing study methods, classification categories, etc. to allow comparison with nearctic sub-populations.
