In 1999 we continued with monitoring of WCR (D. virgifera virgifera LeConte) dispersal in Serbia. Sex pheromone traps produced by the Plant Protection Institute, Budapest, were used on 282 sites in order: a) to check presence or absence of WCR imagoes and b) to check population density. Further spread 20 to 60 km on the south was registered, along the valleys of the rivers Ibar and Morava. Economie population and damages were registered on the larger territory. Newly registered areas where damages from larvae occurred are in Middle Banat and Middle Backa region. Less infested and damaged corn fields recovered, due to abundant rainfalls during the vegetation period. Estimated yield reduction of about 30% was registered on more than 30.000 ha of damaged corn fields on the Serbian territory
