For the first time in Albania during 1999 were carried out the monitoring of WCR (Western Corn Rootworm) Diabrotica virgifera Le Conte.

The monitoring were realized in the Shkodra district (north of Albania) about 100 km from Tirana), in Tirana (near the Rinas airport) and the Durres area. For that were used pheromone traps - CsalomoN, Hungary, (1-5 traps per one site) and Multigard sticky traps (2 per one site). We chose 12 monitoring points, 24 pheromone and 24 Multigard traps were set up, In all of these sites no adult of Diabrotica virgifera Le Conte were caught. In both of types of traps. Wheat was previous crop in all these places, pheromone traps were settled in the field later (22 of July).The monitoring has continued until October 1999.
