Investigations were carried out in Izmir (Menemen, Torbali) and Manisa (Salihli) between 1991 to 1999 in order to observe adult flight by utilizing food, light, pheromone traps and delta type of traps baited with  PAA (Phenyl acetaldehyde) Beside this the relationships between the biology of the pest and the plant phenology were also determined in the field conditions.

As a result of this study, no satisfactory result was achieved with food and pheromone traps. However, Pennsylvania type of light trap was found effective against Ostrinia nubilalis Hbn. moths. Delta type of traps baited PAA at a rate of 1,5 ml/trap for two weeks period were also found effective as an alternative to the light trap.
